ملخص البحث:
ـ يهدف هذا البحث إلى التعرف على شخصية البروفيسور/ جون ديوي، وحياته الشخصية والعامة، والتركيز على حياته العلمية/ التربوية/ النفسية والاجتماعية، ومعرفة منهجه في الأصول النفسية للتربية، ومدى ما حققه ذلك المنهج من تأثير وانتشار سواء على المستوى المحلي الأمريكي أو الإقليمي (الأوربي) أو العالم العربي والإسلامي وكيف استطاع التأثير على مجتمعه، وعلى العالم من حوله في تلك الفترة، وكيف استطاع الاستفادة من واقع المجتمع الذي يحيط به حتى عرفه الناس كأهم شخصية في الفلسفة التربوية، وعلم النفس، وهو العلم الذي أوجد منه أداة لتطوير العملية التعليمية، وكذلك معرفة آراؤه التربوية، في المعلم والمتعلم، والمنهاج التعليمي، والوسيلة التعليمية، والطريقة الأنسب للتعليم، والإدارة التربوية، وكان بحق فيلسوف أمريكا الأول (تربويا وتعليميا واجتماعيا). ـ ويقدم الباحث من خلال هذا البحث جون ديوي أستاذا مرموقا، وكاتبا متميزا في تخصصه (التربوي/النفسي/الاجتماعي)، فقد كتب كثيرا في هذا المجال، والباحث يقدمه من خلال كتاباته المتعلقة بشكل مباشر بالدراسة والتحليل والمناقشة كما سيأتي في هذا البحث.

Abstract
This study aims to delve into professor John Dewey’s life and personality, focusing on his academic, educational, psychological, and social life. This study also aims to identify his approach regarding the psychological foundations of education and assess the influence and dissemination of this approach, whether on the local American, regional European, or Arab and Islamic world levels. Moreover, this study aims to explore how Dewey managed to impact his society and the world during that period, and how he leveraged the societal context he was immersed in to become recognized as a leading figure in educational philosophy as well as psychology, a science he employed as a way to improve the learning process. In addition, this study examines Dewey’s educational views regarding teachers, learners, curricula, instructional materials, teaching methods, and educational administration. Indeed, Dewey was truly considered America’s first philosopher in the realms of education, pedagogy, and society.
Through this study, the researcher introduces John Dewey as a distinguished professor and a prolific writer in his major which includes education, psychology, and society. Dewey has written extensively on these topics, and the researcher will analyze and discuss Dewey’s works that are related to this study directly.
